What Payment Types Does Giant Tiger Accept?

We accept cash in Canadian currency, debit, VISA, MasterCard and Giant Tiger gift cards in all of our stores.

Online Orders
On gianttiger.com, we accept MasterCard, VISA or VISA debit, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Apple Pay and Shop Pay. During checkout you will be asked to provide the telephone number associated with your credit card account (billing phone number). Please check to make sure you have the correct telephone number associated with the credit card account prior to using it to complete your online order.

At this time, we are unable to accept Giant Tiger gift cards as payment for online orders. We are working on offering this in the future.

How Will the Charge for My Online Order Appear on My Billing Statement?

The charge will appear on your billing statement as: GIANTTIGER.COM.

How Will My Payment Be Charged for My Online Order?

If paying by credit card, we’ll pre-authorize the purchase on your method of payment while your order is being processed to make sure there are sufficient funds—this will look like a hold on your financial institution’s account. The payment will be captured in its entirety once your first order has been shipped or picked up in store. All charges on your billing statement will appear as GIANTTIGER.COM.

Please note: Using VISA Debit does not pre-authorize the amount, but rather removes the funds at the time of order. Please contact your financial institution for more details on how a VISA Debit card works.

What Should I Do If Giant Tiger Declined My Payment for My Online Order? 

If your payment was declined for an online order, please take the following steps:

1. Check your payment details: Ensure your card number, expiration date, billing address and CVV code are correct.

2. Contact your bank: Sometimes banks decline payments for security reasons. Check with your bank to resolve any issues.

3. Check available funds or limits: Ensure you have enough funds or havent exceeded your credit card limit.

Can I Split Up My Online Order Payment Over Multiple Credit Cards?

At this time, you are unable to split up your online order payment. If necessary, you can make a second order using a different credit card.

How Can I Use My Giant Tiger Gift Card?

Giant Tiger gift cards can be redeemed for all or part of their value in any Giant Tiger store. At this time, gift cards cannot be redeemed for online purchases.
